Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 envelope Lipton onion soup mix
  • 1 (19 oz.) can black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup prepared salsa
  • 1 (8 1/2 oz.) package plain tortilla chips
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat; drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in the onion soup mix, black beans, and salsa.
  3. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes or until heated through.
  5. Arrange tortilla chips on a serving platter.
  6. Spread the beef mixture over the chips.
  7. Sprinkle with shredded Cheddar cheese.
  8. Optional: top with sliced green onions, sliced pitted ripe olives, chopped tomatoes, and chopped cilantro.
