- Prepare the yellow cake mix according to package directions, using half of the required ingredients.
- Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 18 to 20 minutes.
- Allow the cake to cool completely.
- Beat together the cream cheese and milk until smooth, gradually adding the milk.
- Add the vanilla pudding mix and continue beating until the mixture begins to thicken.
- Spread the pudding mixture evenly over the cooled cake.
- Drain the crushed pineapple well and sprinkle it over the pudding layer.
- Spread the whipped topping over the pineapple layer.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts on top.
- Cover and chill for 24 to 48 hours before serving.
