Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons light cream
  • 1/2 cup white Karo syrup
  • 1/16 teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 to 1 cup chopped pecans
  • pie crust for 9-inch pie

Instructions

  1. Cream sugar and butter together until smooth.
  2. Add cream, white Karo syrup, and salt; blend until smooth.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
  4. Pour the filling into a 9-inch pie crust.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 to 30 minutes until slightly browned and thickened.
  6. Sprinkle chopped pecans on top of the pie.
  7. Bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes until a knife inserted between edge and middle comes out clean.
  8. Serve plain or with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
