Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. imitation or diet margarine
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/8 tsp. thyme leaves
  • pinch of marjoram leaves
  • 8 oz. sliced beef or calves liver

Instructions

  1. Combine margarine and lemon juice in a custard cup.
  2. Put the cup in hot water and simmer until the margarine melts.
  3. Add thyme leaves and marjoram leaves; set aside.
  4. Sprinkle the liver with salt and pepper and place in a greased baking dish.
  5. Broil the liver five inches from the heat source for 3 minutes until browned.
  6. Turn the liver and brown the other side.
  7. Pour the margarine and herb mixture over the liver.
  8. Broil for an additional 1 minute.
  9. Serve hot.
