- Brown the ground beef until well done; drain excess fat.
- Peel potatoes and slice into 1/4-inch thick slices.
- Peel onion and slice into 1/4-inch thick rings.
- Layer the cooked ground beef in a baking dish.
- Place potato slices on top of the beef.
- Add onion rings on top of the potatoes.
- Pour the can of English peas over the layered ingredients.
- Mix the onion gravy mix with 3/4 cup hot water.
- Pour the gravy mixture over the casserole.
- Cover and bake in a 350°F oven for 30 minutes.
- Alternatively, cook on the stove by bringing to a boil in a saucepan, then simmer until potatoes are tender, without stirring.
