Hobo Burgers are hearty foil-wrapped meals combining savory beef, tender vegetables, and melted cheese, perfect for outdoor cooking or quick weeknight dinners for the whole family.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 small to medium potatoes
  • 6 slices American cheese
  • 1 package carrots
  • 1 onion

Instructions

  1. Form ground beef into 4 patties and place each on a large sheet of aluminum foil.
  2. Bring the sides of the foil up to hold other ingredients, creating a sealed packet.
  3. Peel carrots, potatoes, and onion.
  4. Slice the carrots, potatoes, and onion thinly.
  5. Place one slice of American cheese on top of each hamburger patty.
  6. Add the sliced vegetables on top of the cheese and beef patties.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Place half a slice of cheese on top of the vegetables and seal the foil to form a tent-like packet.
  9. Place the foil packets on a cookie sheet and cook at 400°F for approximately 1 hour.
