Ingredients

  • 1 large potato
  • 1 lb ground meat
  • 1 small onion
  • 1/4 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 large can tomatoes
  • salt
  • pepper
  • American cheese slices
  • bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Dice the small onion and cook with ground meat until all the meat is browned. Remove excess grease.
  2. Thinly slice the large potato and layer it in the bottom of a casserole dish.
  3. Add the cooked meat and onion mixture on top of the sliced potatoes.
  4. Sprinkle the uncooked rice evenly over the mixture.
  5. Add the large can of chopped tomatoes over the rice.
  6. Top with slices of American cheese and sprinkle with bread crumbs.
  7. Bake until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden.
