Ingredients

  • 12 oz. frozen apple juice concentrate
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • whipped cream
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp. allspice
  • 5 or 6 large baking apples
  • 1 (9-inch) pie shell
  • nuts

Instructions

  1. Measure about 1/4 cup of frozen apple juice concentrate into a small bowl; stir in cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.
  2. Place the remaining apple juice concentrate into a large skillet with the apples.
  3. Simmer gently until the apples are just tender.
  4. Lightly stir in the cornstarch mixture until the filling becomes quite thick.
  5. Stir in butter or margarine.
  6. Allow the filling to cool.
  7. Pour the filling into the pie shell.
  8. Top with whipped cream and nuts before serving.
