Holeless doughnuts are soft, tender treats with a subtle sweetness, perfect for breakfast or snacks. They are quick to make and can be customized with cinnamon sugar coatings.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 package yeast
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm milk.
  2. Add butter, self-rising flour, and beaten egg yolks to the mixture.
  3. Mix until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise for 3 hours.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dough into deep hot fat using a Fry Daddy or similar fryer.
  6. Fry until the doughnuts are brown.
  7. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  8. While still warm, place doughnuts in a bag with sugar and shake until coated.
  9. For some doughnuts, add cinnamon to the sugar mixture before shaking.
