Ingredients

  • 1 lb. dried white beans
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1/4 lb. bacon, diced
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. dry mustard

Instructions

  1. Cook the dried white beans until tender.
  2. Cook chopped onion, chopped green pepper, and diced bacon together.
  3. Combine the cooked beans with the sautéed ingredients, then add canned tomatoes, brown sugar, and dry mustard.
  4. Simmer the mixture for 2 hours to develop flavors.
