Ingredients

  • 4 cups sliced apples
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Spread sliced apples in a 1 1/2 quart heat-resistant glass utility dish.
  2. Sprinkle with sugar and lemon juice; pour honey all over.
  3. Mix flour, brown sugar, and salt in a bowl.
  4. Work in butter as for biscuits, making a crumb-like mixture.
  5. Spread the flour mixture over the apples.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 40 minutes or until the crust is browned.
  7. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon.
