Honey Barbecued Broilers

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/3 c. vinegar
  • 1/4 c. honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. dried marjoram, crushed
  • dash of freshly ground pepper
  • 3 broiler-fryers (2 lb. each), halved lengthwise

Instructions

  1. Combine butter or margarine, vinegar, honey, garlic, salt, mustard, marjoram and pepper; mix well.
  2. Place chicken, skin side down, on grill.
  3. Tuck wings under.
  4. Broil over low coals for 20 minutes.
  5. Generously brush broiled side of chicken with honey sauce; turn.
  6. Broil 10 minutes.
  7. Brush with sauce and turn.
  8. Broil 5 minutes more.
  9. Remove from heat.
  10. Just before serving, brush again with sauce.
  11. Makes 6 servings.
  12. Enough sauce for 10 to 12 breasts.
  13. Very good!
