Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup margarine
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey or 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup nuts
  • 1/2 cup flour

Instructions

  1. Cream margarine and sugar together.
  2. Blend in honey or syrup and vanilla.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Combine flour, cocoa, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture.
  6. Stir in nuts.
  7. Pour batter into a greased 9 x 9-inch pan.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 to 30 minutes.
  9. Cool and frost before serving.
