- Saute onion in butter until tender.
- Add flour, salt and pepper; blend.
- Drain clams and add quantity of milk to juice to make one cup.
- Add liquid to flour mixture gradually, until thick. Add remaining ingredients except for bread crumbs.
- Place in shallow glass pie plate.
- Top with buttered bread crumbs. Sprinkle top with paprika.
- Bake until brown at 350° or about 20 minutes.
