Ingredients

  • 16 oz. can green beans
  • 3 slices bacon
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • dash of pepper

Instructions

  1. Drain the green beans and save 1/2 cup of the liquid.
  2. Cook the bacon until crisp, then remove and set aside.
  3. In the bacon fat, cook the chopped onion until tender.
  4. Add the remaining ingredients along with the reserved bean liquid.
  5. Heat slowly to blend flavors and serve.
