Ingredients

  • 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • red baking candies or red hots

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a baking sheet.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the unsweetened chocolate over low heat. Let cool.
  3. In a small bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat margarine on low speed until smooth, then add sugar and beat until creamy.
  5. Stir in the beaten egg and vanilla extract.
  6. Add the melted chocolate and mix well.
  7. Gradually add the flour mixture and mix until a stiff dough forms.
