Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup flour

Instructions

  1. Bake the sponge on a cookie sheet at 375°F until done, being careful not to overbake.
  2. Turn out the cake onto a towel covered with powdered sugar and roll it up while warm.
  3. Allow the cake to cool completely, then unroll it carefully.
  4. Spread ice cream evenly over the unrolled cake.
  5. Reroll the cake with the ice cream inside and freeze until firm.
