Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter flavor Crisco or regular shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/3 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup black walnuts, chopped fine

Instructions

  1. Cream the shortening, sugar, and eggs together.
  2. Add milk and dry ingredients alternately to the creamed mixture.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased and floured loaf pan.
  4. Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center tests done.
