Ingredients

  • 8 oz. fresh green beans, cut into strips or drained canned green beans
  • 4 oz. can mushrooms (stems and pieces), drained
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup Bisquick
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 10-inch pie plate.
  2. If using fresh green beans, cook in boiling salted water for 5 minutes, then cover and cook 5 to 10 minutes until tender. Drain.
  3. Mix green beans, mushrooms, chopped onion, crushed garlic, and shredded Cheddar cheese in the pie plate.
  4. In a blender or with a hand mixer, beat eggs, milk, Bisquick, salt, and pepper until smooth, about 15 seconds in a blender or 1 minute with a hand mixer.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the bean mixture in the pie plate.
  6. Bake until a knife inserted between the center and edge comes out clean, about 30 to 35 minutes.
  7. Cool for 5 minutes before serving.
