Individual strombolis are flavorful, portable Italian-inspired dishes filled with meats, cheeses, and vegetables, perfect for a satisfying snack or meal for family and friends.

Ingredients

  • 2 loaves frozen bread dough
  • pepperoni
  • hard salami
  • sliced ham
  • mozzarella cheese
  • provolone cheese
  • 1 can pizza sauce
  • diced onions
  • green peppers
  • sliced mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Thaw and cut frozen bread dough into manageable pieces.
  2. Roll each piece into about 6 x 6-inch squares.
  3. Place all desired ingredients on half of each dough square, staying 1/2-inch from the edge.
  4. Fold the plain side of the dough over the fillings and pinch the outside edges together to seal.
  5. Fry in deep hot oil until golden brown or bake on a greased cookie sheet at 350°F until golden brown.
