Ingredients

  • 8 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 6 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 2 tablespoons caraway seed
  • 1 quart buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients together in a large pan or bowl.
  2. Knead with hands or mixer on low speed.
  3. Grease and flour 2 loaf pans.
  4. Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes, then at 325°F for 40 minutes or until baked through.
