Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 (1 lb) loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 1/4 lb sliced pastrami, cut into strips
  • 1/4 lb sliced salami, cut into strips
  • 1/4 lb sliced cheese, cut into strips
  • 1 can sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, drained and chopped
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, cook olive oil and crushed garlic together over medium-low heat, stirring almost constantly, for 2 to 3 minutes until garlic is golden and fragrant.
  2. Discard garlic; set saucepan of garlic-flavored oil aside.
  3. Preheat oven according to bread dough package instructions.
  4. Roll out or shape the thawed bread dough on a baking sheet.
  5. Brush the dough with the garlic-flavored oil.
  6. Layer the sliced pastrami, salami, cheese, sliced mushrooms, chopped red bell pepper, and chopped green onions evenly over the dough.
  7. If desired, sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  8. Brush the edges of the dough with beaten egg mixed with water.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven until the bread is golden and toppings are heated through, about 15 minutes.
  10. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, then slice and serve.
