  • 3 1/2 to 4 cups flour
  • 2 packages dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups flour, dry yeast, sugar, salt, and Italian seasoning; mix well.
  2. In a saucepan, heat milk, water, and butter until warm (120° to 130°), with butter not needing to melt; add to flour mixture.
  3. Add egg to the mixture.
  4. Blend at low speed until moistened; then beat for 3 minutes at medium speed.
  5. By hand, gradually stir in 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese and enough remaining flour to make a firm dough.

  7. Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning to grease the top.
  8. Cover and let rise in a warm oven (turn oven to lowest setting for 1 minute, then turn off) for 15 minutes.
