Tips & Substitutions

For a twist, try adding some sliced mushrooms or zucchini to the vegetable mix for extra flavor and nutrition. If you want a spicier kick, consider using hot sausage instead of mild. You can also substitute the potatoes with sweet potatoes for a slightly sweeter taste and added nutrients. Make sure to cut all ingredients into uniform sizes to ensure even cooking.

Serving Suggestions

This Italian Heritage Casserole pairs beautifully with a fresh green salad dressed with balsamic vinaigrette. For a complete meal, serve with crusty garlic bread or a side of steamed vegetables. This dish also works well alongside other Italian recipes like Chicken Cacciatora for a themed dinner night.

Storage & Reheating

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. To reheat, place in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes or until heated through. You can also reheat individual portions in the microwave for 2-3 minutes, stirring halfway to ensure even heating.
