Italian Hero Loaf
A hearty Italian-inspired loaf filled with ham, provolone, salami, pimentos, and olives, perfect for casual gatherings or a flavorful lunch option.
Ingredients
- 3 1/4 cups flour ⓘ
- 1 tablespoon sugar ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 1 package RapidRise yeast ⓘ
- 1 cup hot water (130°F) ⓘ
- 1 tablespoon margarine (soft) ⓘ
- 8 ounces sliced cooked ham ⓘ
- 4 ounces sliced Provolone cheese ⓘ
- 4 ounces sliced salami ⓘ
- 2 ounces sliced pimentos, drained
- 1/2 cup pitted ripe olives, drained
- 1 egg white, beaten ⓘ
- sesame seed ⓘ
- creamy Italian dressing ⓘ
Instructions
- Set aside 1 cup of flour.
- Mix the remaining flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a bowl.
- Stir in hot water and margarine until combined.
- Gradually add the reserved flour to form a soft dough.
- Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
- Layer sliced ham, provolone, salami, pimentos, olives, and Italian dressing on the dough.
- Roll up the dough tightly to form a loaf.
- Brush the beaten egg white over the top and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for approximately 20 minutes until golden brown.
- Slice and serve warm.
