Tips & Substitutions

For a flavor boost, consider adding Italian herbs like oregano or basil. If you prefer a thicker stew, increase the flour or reduce the liquid further. You can substitute the chicken broth with vegetable broth for a vegetarian version. If you don't have frozen shoe peg corn, fresh or canned corn will work just fine. Adjust the Tabasco to your heat preference.

Serving Suggestions

This hearty stew pairs wonderfully with crusty bread or over a bed of rice for a filling meal. Consider serving it alongside a fresh salad, such as a simple green salad or one with Italian flavors, like a Pasta Fagioli Soup. For a complete Italian experience, serve with a side of Cutlets Parmesan.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, gently warm on the stove over low heat, stirring occasionally, until heated through. You can also microwave individual portions for a quick meal but be sure to cover to retain moisture.
