  • 3 or 4 shakes Tabasco sauce

  2. Add beaten eggs and bring to a good boil.
  3. Add margarine and shredded Cheddar cheese.

Tips & Substitutions

For an extra kick, consider adding diced fresh jalapeños or using pepper jack cheese instead of sharp Cheddar. If you prefer a creamier texture, substitute half of the water with milk or half-and-half. Adjust the level of Tabasco to match your spice tolerance. If you like a more complex flavor, add some garlic powder or onion powder.

Serving Suggestions

Serve Jalapeño Grits as a side dish alongside grilled meats or as a hearty breakfast option topped with a fried egg. They pair beautifully with Creamy Egg And Vegetable Casserole for a satisfying brunch. Garnish with fresh cilantro or green onions for added freshness and color.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place in a microwave-safe dish and heat in short intervals, stirring occasionally, until warmed through. You can also bake in the oven at 350°F for about 20 minutes, adding a splash of milk for moisture if needed.
