Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Sift flour, salt, and baking powder thoroughly.
  2. Beat egg whites and yolks separately.
  3. Mix powdered sugar with egg yolks.
  4. Add sifted flour to the mixture, then fold in egg whites and milk.
  5. Pour the batter into three shallow pans and bake for 15 minutes at 375°F.
  6. Allow the layers to cool.
  7. Spread currant jelly between each layer.
  8. Stack the layers on top of each other and sift powdered sugar on top.
