Ingredients

  • 2 cans kidney beans (Mexican)
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 cup instant chopped onions
  • 1 can (16 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 2 cans (6 oz. each) tomato paste
  • 4 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 tsp. salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef with chopped onions.
  2. Drain excess fat from the beef.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, chili powder, black pepper, salt (if using), and water.
  4. Heat the mixture to boiling.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes.
  6. Stir in kidney beans and cook until heated through.
  7. Serve hot with oyster crackers.
