Instructions
- Mix the brown sugar, dark corn syrup, butter, and salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Boil without stirring for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the baking soda.
- Pour the hot caramel mixture over the popped popcorn, do not stir.
- Bake at 250°F for 15 minutes, then remove and stir.
- Return to the oven and repeat the baking and stirring every 15 minutes until a total of 1 hour has elapsed.
- If peanuts are desired, add them after the first 15 minutes of baking.
