Sweet and crunchy caramel corn with rich brown sugar and butter flavor, perfect for snack lovers and parties, with an addictive, toffee-like taste and crispy texture.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 5 quarts popped popcorn

Instructions

  1. Mix the brown sugar, dark corn syrup, butter, and salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  2. Boil without stirring for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the baking soda.
  4. Pour the hot caramel mixture over the popped popcorn, do not stir.
  5. Bake at 250°F for 15 minutes, then remove and stir.
  6. Return to the oven and repeat the baking and stirring every 15 minutes until a total of 1 hour has elapsed.
  7. If peanuts are desired, add them after the first 15 minutes of baking.
