Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. clove
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 jar blackberry jam

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening and sugar together.
  2. Add eggs, flour, soda, baking powder, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and salt, then add alternately 1 cup buttermilk and 1 jar blackberry jam.
