Ingredients

  • 1 pkg dry yeast
  • 2 c warm water
  • 1/2 c shortening
  • 1/4 c margarine very soft
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 4 c self-rising flour sifted

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
  2. Combine shortening, margarine, sugar, and egg; add to yeast mixture.
  3. Add sifted self-rising flour and mix well.
  4. Cover bowl with a damp towel or plastic wrap and place in refrigerator.
  5. When ready to use, stir dough down and fill greased muffin tins half full.
  6. Bake in a 350°F oven for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
