Ingredients

  • 1 thick slice stale bread
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon cream or 2 tablespoons syrup
  • 2 cups water
  • butter (size of egg)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 quart flour

Instructions

  1. Soak the stale bread in water until softened.
  2. Mix the soaked bread with cream or syrup, and additional water as needed to form a batter.
  3. Add the eggs, salt, and flour to the batter and stir until well combined.
  4. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Pour batter into the skillet to form pancakes.
  6. Cook until golden brown on both sides and cooked through.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
