Ingredients

  • 12 oz evaporated milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 lb 13 oz pumpkin (canned)
  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 to 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 to 1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Combine evaporated milk, beaten eggs, pumpkin pie spice, salt, sugar, and pumpkin in a bowl and stir until smooth.
  2. Pour the mixture into a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle sifted yellow cake mix evenly over the pumpkin mixture.
  4. Slice butter over the cake mix layer.
  5. Sprinkle chopped nuts over the top.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 50 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  7. Serve warm or cooled, optionally with whipped cream or whipped topping.
