Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup oil
  • 2 cups canned pumpkin
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, eggs, and oil in a medium-sized bowl.
  2. Add canned pumpkin to the mixture and mix again.
  3. Measure and sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, allspice, and cinnamon.
  4. Sift the dry ingredients again and add to the pumpkin mixture, mixing well.
  5. Pour batter into a greased and floured tube pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 35 minutes.
  7. Reduce oven temperature to 275°F and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
