Ingredients

  • 2 lb. hamburger
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 to 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 green pepper, chopped
  • 2 cans kidney beans, drained
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can Ro-Tel tomatoes with chili peppers
  • 1 large can tomato sauce
  • 1 can water
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1 to 2 tsp. cumin
  • 3 Tbsp. olive oil

Instructions

  1. Saute chopped onion, minced garlic, and chopped green pepper in olive oil until transparent.
  2. Add hamburger and cook until browned.
  3. Drain off excess fat.
  4. Add drained kidney beans, diced tomatoes, Ro-Tel tomatoes with chili peppers, tomato sauce, water, salt, chili powder, oregano, and cumin.
  5. Simmer uncovered for 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
