Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 cups diced raw apples
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • raisins (as desired)

Instructions

  1. Cream the vegetable oil and sugar together until well combined.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: flour, salt, soda, and cinnamon.
  3. Add eggs to the creamed mixture and blend thoroughly.
  4. Fold in the diced raw apples and pecans, and raisins if desired.
  5. Pour the batter into an ungreased, floured tube pan.
  6. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 1 hour and 15 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
