Ingredients

  • 2 lb. kielbasa
  • 1 (32 oz.) can sauerkraut
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 small head cabbage
  • 5 or 6 carrots
  • 5 medium potatoes
  • 2 cans tomato soup
  • 1/2 lb. lean bacon
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Cut kielbasa into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Cut bacon into 2-inch pieces.
  3. Place ingredients in a large roaster in the following order: spread 1 can of tomato soup on the bottom.
  4. Sprinkle sauerkraut over the soup.
  5. Add one can of water.
  6. Add sliced cabbage.
  7. Add peeled and bite-sized potatoes.
  8. Add sliced onion, salt, and pepper.
  9. Add sliced carrots.
  10. Add kielbasa pieces.
  11. Add bacon pieces.
  12. Spread the second can of tomato soup over the ingredients.
  13. Pour one more can of water over everything.
  14. Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 325°F for 2½ to 3 hours.
