Ingredients

  • Koftas
  • 1 1 kg minced beef or 1 kg minced chicken
  • 2 medium onions
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons gram flour (roasted)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 inches ginger, sliced fine
  • 3 green chilies, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • For the Curry
  • 3 medium onions, sliced
  • 4 -5 garlic cloves
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder

Instructions

  1. For Koftas:
  2. Combine minced meat with all kofta ingredients.
  3. Shape into balls.
  4. shallow fry till golden brown.
  5. put aside.
  6. for Curry:
  7. fry onions in a little oil, add ginger and garlic and fry together till golden brown.
  8. Add remaining Curry ingredients with enough water to make a gravy.
  9. Bring to a boil, add koftas and simmer for about 40-50 minutes.
  10. garnish with coriander and serve hot with naan bread or pitas or chapati.
