Ingredients

  • 1 lb. beef flank steak or top round
  • 2 Tbsp. finely chopped green onion
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/8 tsp. bottled hot pepper sauce
  • cooking oil for deep fat frying
  • hot cooked rice

Instructions

  1. Partially freeze beef, then thinly slice across the grain into bite-size strips.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, green onion, cooking oil, sugar, garlic, and hot pepper sauce.
  3. Soak the beef strips in the marinade for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  4. Deep fry the marinated beef strips in oil until crispy and cooked to your preferred level.
  5. Serve the fried beef strips over hot cooked rice.
