Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 (No. 3) can whole kernel corn
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 can tomato soup

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef and chopped onion with chili powder; drain off the fat.
  2. Mix the remaining ingredients into the beef mixture.
  3. Clean the tomato soup can with a little water and add it to the mixture.
  4. Prepare the cornbread by mixing 1 cup self-rising cornmeal, 2/3 cup milk, and 1 egg.
  5. Pour the cornbread batter over the beef mixture.
  6. Bake in a 450°F (232°C) oven until the cornbread on top is done.
