Ingredients

  • 6 oz. large bow tie pasta
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 (15 oz.) can pizza sauce
  • 1 tsp. minced dry onion
  • 1/2 tsp. dry basil, crushed
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup Ricotta cheese or cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta until tender; drain.
  2. Fry ground beef until browned; drain off fat.
  3. Add pizza sauce, minced dry onion, and crushed basil to the beef and mix well.
  4. In a bowl, combine beaten egg with Ricotta or cottage cheese.
  5. In a greased 12 x 9 1/2 x 2-inch baking dish, layer half of the cooked pasta.
  6. Spoon the cheese mixture over the pasta layer.
  7. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
  8. Layer remaining pasta, then the meat mixture, and top with shredded Mozzarella cheese.
  9. Bake, covered, at 425°F for 15 minutes.
  10. Uncover and bake for an additional 5 to 8 minutes until heated through.
