Layer Green Salad

A colorful layered green salad combining fresh vegetables, peas, cheese, and bacon bits, topped with a sweet mayonnaise dressing. Perfect for potlucks and family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head lettuce, chopped
  • 1/2 cup green onion
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup celery
  • 1 can water chestnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 can English peas, drained
  • 2 cups mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Layer the chopped lettuce at the bottom of a serving dish.
  2. Add a layer of green onions over the lettuce.
  3. Spread a layer of bell peppers on top.
  4. Add a layer of sliced celery.
  5. Distribute the chopped water chestnuts evenly over the vegetables.
  6. Spread drained English peas over the water chestnuts.
  7. Mix mayonnaise with sugar and spread evenly over the top layer.
  8. Sprinkle grated cheese over the mayonnaise layer.
  9. Add bacon bits on top as a garnish.
  10. Chill in the refrigerator before serving.
