Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 (32 oz.) jar Ragu
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/4 tsp. basil leaves
  • 8 oz. spaghetti noodles
  • 2 c. cottage cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 (8 oz.) Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, combine ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic.
  2. Cook until the beef is browned and the vegetables are tender.
  3. Stir in the Ragu sauce, water, and basil leaves.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. While the sauce simmers, prepare spaghetti noodles as directed and drain.
  6. Layer cooked spaghetti, sauce mixture, cottage cheese mixed with beaten egg, and shredded mozzarella in a baking dish.
  7. Repeat layers if desired, finishing with mozzarella on top.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) until hot and bubbly, about 20 minutes.
