- Brown the meat in 2 tablespoons of corn oil.
- Add chopped onions, tomato juice, and 1 1/2 cups of water to the skillet.
- Cover and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours until the beef is tender.
- Add sliced fresh mushrooms and simmer for an additional 30 minutes.
- Thicken the sauce with 2 tablespoons of flour combined with 1/2 cup of water. Add evaporated milk and heat until nearly simmering.
