Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. honey
  • 1/2 c. molasses
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. grated lemon rind
  • 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/3 c. cut citron

Instructions

  1. Boil and cool honey, molasses, brown sugar, and egg.
  2. Mix in the order listed in the ingredients.
  3. Chill dough overnight.
  4. Using small amounts, roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into 1 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch oblong shapes.
  5. Place the cookies 1 inch apart on a greased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 400°F for 10 to 12 minutes.
