Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 lb beef round bottom
  • 2 to 3 tsp butter
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 to 2 carrots
  • celery
  • parsley

Instructions

  1. Heat butter in a large pan and sauté the beef until it becomes light brown on all sides.
  2. Add salt, pepper, carrots, celery, parsley, water or beef sauce, and lemon juice.
  3. Bring to a boil and simmer for 2 hours.
  4. Allow the meat to cool, then cut into pieces.
  5. Return the meat pieces to the pan and warm for a while.
  6. Pour the gravy through a colander to strain.
  7. Make the gravy thicker by adding 2 teaspoons of flour and stirring well.
  8. Serve the meat with rice or sautéed mushrooms.
