Ingredients

  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp finely shredded lemon peel
  • Lemon Glaze

Instructions

  1. Stir lemon juice into milk; set aside.
  2. Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Beat butter for 30 seconds; add sugar and beat until fluffy.
  4. Add egg and lemon peel; beat well.
  5. Add dry ingredients and milk mixture alternately to beaten mixture, beating well after each addition.
  6. Drop from a teaspoon 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 12 to 14 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven at once and place on a wire rack; brush Lemon Glaze over the cookies.
