Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 3/4 cup sifted flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Beat the eggs very well, gradually add sugar and continue beating.
  3. Mix in shortening and buttermilk.
  4. Sift the dry ingredients together and stir them into the wet mixture.
  5. Chill the dough.
  6. Roll the dough to 1/3 inch thickness.
