Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 small green pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 large can tomato juice
  • 1/2 lb bacon
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 to 1 lb spaghetti

Instructions

  1. Put water in a medium-sized saucepan and bring to a boil.
  2. Add chopped green pepper and onion to the boiling water.
  3. Cook for 10 minutes to soften the vegetables.
  4. Add large can of tomato juice to the saucepan.
  5. Simmer the mixture for 30 minutes.
  6. Dice the bacon and fry until brown.
  7. Remove bacon from the pan and drain on paper towels.
  8. Add bacon to the tomato mixture, along with a little bacon fat for added flavor.
  9. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions.
  10. Drain the cooked spaghetti.
  11. Combine the drained spaghetti with the tomato and bacon mixture.
  12. Serve hot.
